VERi TABLE: A former French starred chef bent on conquering Greece

Alain Parodi set up home in Neo Psychiko, near Athens. There, he opened VERi TABLE, a no-nonsense bistronomic restaurant where respect for each product is paramount.

Coming from former starred chef Alain Parodi, the combination of “very” and “table” harks back to a typically French type of bistronomy, whilst being guided by a few Mediterranean influences. From the ovens to the wine cellar, the quality of products used is to the fore of the cook's concerns. Most ingredients are supplied from France, Spain and Italy, straight from small producers depending on seasons. Taste, respect and tradition make Alain Parodi's typical trio of choice. The chef regularly winks at the cuisine from the Provence region he grew up with (small fougasse from Grasse, onion pie, stuffed vegetables from Nice…), yet always lets his creativity run free: the duck served with donut peaches, and the duck leg ravioli in ginger are prime examples. This fusion of styles seems very popular with Greek locals. After only two months, VERi TABLE already makes the country's 100 Best list!
