On the Nice port, make sure you make it in past the front of Bistrot du Port. If it looks like nothing much, it is hiding cuisine whose reputation extends well beyond Nice itself. Since 2000, the Orsini family has been at the reigns of this restaurant that highlights fish and Mediterranean savours with José in the kitchen. Before opening this restaurant, the chef followed a remarkable path with a few years next to Alain Ducasse then on to the French Prime Minister's residence, Matignon, in the 1990s.
Sitting on the terrace to make the most of the Niçois sun, relish fresh products while watching the boats leaving for Corsica. On the blackboard are Scallop carpaccio as a starter followed by grilled Saint Pierre served with artichokes and the famous fishermen's pot. To end with a sweet touch, do not miss out on the famed tarte flambée!
