The Golden Wheel is the antithesis of the posh Augustine Hotel. No streamlined designer furnishings here, just an intimate, romantic ambiance brought on by authentic details: domed or exposed-beam ceilings which sometimes boast Baroque stuccos.
The decor is quirky and widely assorted. The fairly stripped-down rooms are comfortable and contrast nicely with the crowded Art Nouveau reception area, which recalls the obsolete charms of hotels behind the Iron Curtain.
A much-appreciated little hotel which opens onto the cobblestones of the famous Nerudova street near the walls of Prague Castle.
