Gain some height on board the TelefériQo

Jump several hundred meters high in the Andean air thanks to Quito's cable cars.

No sooner has it been inaugurated that it was already a landmark of the Ecuadorian landscape. Located on the easternmost side of the city, on the slope of the Pichincha volcano, the TelefériQo (with a capital Q, as in “Quito”) has been in service since 2005. As the day goes on, the queue gets longer and longer in front of the egg-shaped cabins. Once inside, you will rise up above the city for an 18-minute ride. Cruz de Loma is your destination, showcasing a 180° panorama of Quito. It is recommended to go early in the morning, to avoid massive crowds and ensure incredible views. On a clear day, you may even see a few volcanos in the distance, including Cotopaxi, Antisana and Cayambe, among the highest in Ecuador, easily identifiable to their snowy peaks. This breathtaking landscape is also to be taken literary: you will then be standing 4,050 metres high!
