Three hundred years ago, it was a coaching inn for wayfarers on the road connecting Vienna to Trieste. It is now a boutique hotel with 72 rooms, where the old stables have been transformed into lounges, suites, and meeting rooms.
British designer Sir Terence Conran has created an elegant space around a courtyard blooming with flowers in summer. This four-star has all the signs of greatness. The large rooms are beautifully furnished: the beds with wooden headboards, the chests of drawers of 30s inspiration and antique taps in the white tiled bathrooms. The toiletries from Molton Brown add a touch of refinement. Some suites overlook the garden, which you can choose if you are in need of quiet.
