Located in a former mill, this restaurant epitomises new Milanese energy with a menu that reinterprets Italian cuisine by adding a modern twist.

At first, the decor can be a little disconcerting. It seems more fitting for an artistic happening than a dining room. Imagine a vast workshop with crude walls and floors, and in the centre, four long tables in the form of a cross. You are in one of the most popular venues in Milan.

Design-wise, the lighting, Cappellini chairs selected by curator Tanja Solci. The mismatched plates come from the collections of Richard Ginori.

Cuisine-wise, chef Luca Pedata executes excellent cuisine, reinterpreting Italian traditions with modernity and a lightness of touch. Everything is fresh, seasonal, and local, and the menu changes every two months. It is best to book ahead. Though the restaurant is a ‘table d'hôte', an intimate dinner for two is also possible.
