CityJet, the regional airline of choice in Europe, is pleased to announce the opening of their latest gateway in France, Pau Pyrenees Airport, starting 2 April, 2011. Pau is a gateway to the spectacular scenery of the Pyrenees, with a short drive to popular ski resorts, Biarritz and the Atlantic coast as well as Lourdes. CityJet in cooperation with parent company Air France will begin operating direct flights to their newest destination in France from their hub London City Airport, as well as from Dublin International Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
The flights will be operated by the Avro RJ85 jet, with a capacity of 95 seats in comfortable leather with a pitch of 32 inches and a 3-3 configuration and will offer CityJet´s award winning service, including free check-in, seat choice, complimentary food and beverage service as well as baggage. Including golf bags, so passengers can take full advantage when visiting Europe´s first golf course in Pau.
The initial schedule will offer three return flights a week between London City Airport and Pau, three return flights from Dublin (one direct and two via London City), and two return flights a week from Amsterdam.
‘I am thrilled about opening this newest gateway in France, both because it is a beautiful region that we thus far have not had direct service to, but that we are also introducing direct flights to Pau from Dublin and Amsterdam with the participation of our parent company Air France. Meaning that together we are making it even easier for many of our passengers to discover not only Pau, but Dublin and Amsterdam Schiphol where passengers will be able to directly connect to the worldwide Air France KLM network,” said the CEO of CityJet, Christine Ourmières.
“I am delighted that CityJet, together with Air France, have launched these new routes to meet the growing demands of city to city travel in the business, as well as leisure communities of London and the South East. Our Group is strengthening its presence at London City Airport and its commitment to its passengers,” added Henri Hourcade, General Manager of Air France KLM, UK and Ireland.
In addition to launching the new service to Pau, CityJet will also be adding the popular French destinations Avignon and Toulon to their network this May. These newest destinations in France are in addition to the already established CityJet network including, Brive, Deauville, Paris-Orly and Nantes.
