Abolishment of Air Passenger Duty for the under 16s travelling on/after 01/03/16

The UK government have abolished Air Passenger Duty (APD) for children aged 12 to 15 travelling in the Economy class cabin on or after 1 March 2016. We are working towards updating our website in order to reflect this change but currently 12 -15 year olds are still being charged APD when booking on

If you book on our website and the booking includes
  • a child (children) aged 12-15 at the time of travel, departing from a UK departure airport and
  • This child is (these children are) due to travel in Economy class cabin on or after 1 March 2016

Then this child is (these children are) entitled to a refund of the APD.

In order to get a refund, please complete the form online , attaching a copy of the child’s (children’s) passport. Please select “refund” in the drop down menu and indicate in the message box that your request relates to APD refund.

We will then proceed with the refund(s) using the original method of payment without any administration fee.

All passengers who paid via a credit or debit card will have the APD refunded automatically to their original card, anyone paying via Bank Transfer will be contacted for their payment details. We aim to complete the refund(s) within 4 weeks of notification.

Children under 12 travelling in Economy and infants do not currently pay APD.

Passengers who have booked via a travel agent would need to contact their travel agent directly to obtain a full APD refund.
