Take off for Johannesburg, the city of gold

Located in the south of the African continent, Johannesburg, capital of the Gauteng province, is the largest city in South Africa. It has a population of 3.8 million, the 2nd largest city in Africa. The city of Johannesburg, which is not the country's capital, is the economic centre. South Africa's stock market is located in this city.
Johannesburg's history has made it one of the country's most ethnically and culturally diverse cities. The Dutch founded the first colony on the Cape in South Africa during the 17th century. They brought many slaves from Madagascar and Indonesia. Later, the colony belonged to the English (18th century). The city of Johannesburg was founded in the 19th century, when gold was discovered, and it grew very rapidly. Many Europeans and Africans migrated to the developing territory.
Despite the turbulent past and complex history, the city of Johannesburg was able to establish a great cultural heritage. During a trip to Johannesburg, you can visit many museums: Joburg Art Gallery, Museum Africa, Apartheid Museum, etc.
The city has a temperate tropical climate and temperatures are pleasant in summer (between 28°C and 30°C) like in winter (between 10°C and 20°C). However, the city is located at an altitude of 1650 metres and the temperatures are cooler in the evenings and drop at night: about 15°C in summer and close to 0°C in winter.
