1.

What is meant by my flight departure time?

Your flight departure time means the time at which your aircraft starts to move and leaves its parking bay.The aircraft then moves onto the runway, before taking off.

The departure time is given to you when you purchase or reserve your ticket. It is displayed on:
-          your ticket,
-          the departure screens at the airport.

You can also find it in the section entitled Schedules.

2. What about the arrival time?

Your flight arrival time is the time at which your aircraft stops moving and is in its parking bay, after arrival at its destination.

Your flight arrival time is given to you when you buy your ticket. It is displayed on your trip reminder.

3.

Under what circumstances may flights be delayed?

The punctuality of a departing flight depends on the successful coordination of all those working on and around the aircraft.

This includes:
-          Air France staff,
-          agents and authorities responsible for the airport’s technical installations and safety procedures (air traffic control, security and freight in particular).

Adverse weather conditions and air traffic control coordination may also affect the punctuality of flights.

4.

How can I contribute to flight punctuality?

You can contribute to flight punctuality by being aware of:

-         the Check-In Deadline for your flight.
To find out what this time is, all you have to do is consult "Your reservations" on our site homepage, or the section entitled Information and services > At the airport > Check-in > Check-In Deadline
-          the check-in opening time given on your boarding pass,
-          the boarding gate arrival deadline which is given when you check in via Internet,
-          any announcements you see or hear at the airport regarding your flight.

5.

What is the difference between check-in and boarding?

Check-in confirms your presence on the flight and allows you to check in any baggage. Boarding is the moment at which you actually get on the plane.

Once check-in has been completed, remember to leave enough time to pass through the security monitoring areas (passport and/or security procedures). This will ensure you arrive at the indicated boarding gate on time.
