Reduced fares for babies Domestic flights are free for children under 2 years if they travel on your lap. On international flights, they are eligible for a 90% fare reduction. Remember to specify that you are traveling with a baby when making your reservation. Baby accompaniment Babies must always be accompanied during the trip by an autonomous passenger over 18 years of age. The accompanying person may be under 18 years of age if (s)he is the father, mother or legal guardian. Each passenger can accompany only one baby. Before departure, remember to ensure that your children have all the documents required by law enforcement, customs and immigration authorities in the destination country.
We advise against traveling in the 7 days following the birth of your baby.
Avoid traveling if your baby has a cold.
If your baby is undergoing treatment or is prone to travel sickness, remember to bring health records and medication.
Bring everything required to change your baby (diapers, cotton, etc.).
Choose comfortable, warm clothing (sweaters and socks).
Give your baby a pacifier, bottle, lollipop or cookie at take-off and landing to prevent sore ears.
Bring regular food and bottles in sufficient quantities for the trip. Make sure your baby drinks sufficiently during the flight.
Strollers, cushions and more Parents traveling with a baby on their lap can take advantage of a special 10-kg baggage allowance. A folding stroller, cushion or car seat is also permitted, regardless of the destination. Folding strollers (maximum dimensions when folded: 15 x 30 x 100 cm) are accepted in the cabin, though in limited numbers, on long-haul flights (excluding the Caribbean and Indian Ocean), Meals and services On all flights over 2.5 hours, your baby receives a special meal of baby food and cookies. Skycots are at your disposal in the l´Espace Affaires cabin on medium-haul flights and in l´Espace Affaires, Alizé and Tempo cabins on long-haul flights. Remember to make meal and service requests when reserving or purchasing your ticket at least 24 hours prior to departure. Baby changing tables are also available on long-haul flights. Family assistants Air France employees called "family assistants" are available to care for families with children and unaccompanied children on long-haul flights in the Antilles, Indian Ocean, Africa and Middle East network. They check that skycots are correctly installed, heat bottles and distribute games to ensure a pleasant flight for both you and your children. Meals On all flights over 2.5 hours, a meal adapted to their tastes and needs is provided: pre-cut meat and fish for an easy-to-eat meal! Children aged 9 years and older can choose to be served "like grown-ups" or stick with the Planète Bleue menu. Remember to order the children´s meal when reserving or purchasing your tickets, at least 24 hours prior to departure.
